HOW DO WE DO IT?
March Legend is led by an industry veteran with an in depth understanding of wood and woodworking processes, in particular, those of a tactile nature. Never working for another maker or factory, we developed our own processes decades ago long before the birth of the internet, youtube and the likes. Through intense study we carefully developed our own methods for heirloom quality furniture combining the best features our founder encountered in over 500 furniture lines that he represented earlier in his career.
In other words, we have applied over 30 years of experience and believe we have developed a perfect process for ensuring your custom farm table is ready to ship within 30 days matching the exact quality of our old lead time of 8 weeks & we guarantee it.
OUR FARM
We are in the process of employing the diverse wood species indigenous to North Carolina from of our vast 100 acre farm. We plan to call this a "choose your tree" process in which the wood for many projects is carefully harvested and milled from our own precious forest. Why would we go to these great lengths? This ensures minimum impact on our environment that we can personally supervise while we make sure we replace what we take out of nature.
Making solid wood furniture is simply not worth destroying nature, so this is just one way we plan to preserve our precious surroundings.
ALL NATURAL
Want it all all natural? For the chemical sensitive folks, we can take extraordinary measures to ensure a safe non toxic, earth friendly furniture finish for you and yours, all you have to do is ask. We have decades of experience applying safe coatings. We use some of the best natural coatings available such as Vermont Natural Coatings® along with many of our own formulas we have created over the years. From lime based organic mineral milk paints, to gentle protective wax finishes. ECO FRIENDLY SOLAR KILN
Other than air drying, the sun would be the most environmentally friendly way to dry and acclimate lumber to the proper moisture content for furniture making. We are preparing to use mother nature as one of the means of preparaton for your special project. This is just another way we plan to counter our impact on our environment. Sustainability is an important and crucial ingredient in every thing we do, not just another slogan.
